So I've bought a knockoff Xbox 360 Gamepad...

…And it is awesome. I’ve been using it for some weeks now and it simply is great. The feel is almost as if it was the original and I might even say that the face buttons are better than that of Microsoft.

The model is a Redgear Pro Wired edition and it was literally plug-and-play on my Arch Linux Machine. No configuration nothing. Oh and did I mention that it was cheap! ₹1,199 for what is essentially a solid console emulation experience. It has analog triggers that works amazing too. I’m running out of adjectives here.

Well if there is one gripe then it would the looks. It isn’t an aesthetically pleasing device to look at. But hey at this price point, I should have other things to worry about rather than what my $15 gamepad looks like. With that said, if you have access to a place where you can get an 8BitDo Ultimate C, then you know what to do :)

Linux recognised it as a ID 045e:028e Microsoft Corp. Xbox360 Controller by lsusb while the device was in XInput mode. Absolutely no configuration was required and it works perfectly in all games that I’ve tested.
